Prof Molly Stevens is elected into the National Academy of Engineering
Prof Molly Stevens has been elected a Foreign Member of the National Academy of Engineering for her work on materials-based approaches to tissue regeneration and biosensing. Election to the National Academy of Engineering is among the highest professional distinctions accorded to an engineer, and Molly was one of only 18 Foreign Members to be elected in 2019.

Prof Stevens was listed in the Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researchers 2018 list in the category of Cross-science. The list recognizes exceptional research performance demonstrated by the production of multiple highly cited papers.

Molly Stevens celebrates 10 years as Full Professor
Prof Molly Stevens celebrated 10 years as a Full Professor at Imperial College with a lecture, entitled “Materials-based adventures in bioengineering: engineering organs and detecting disease earlier”, on 25 May 2018.
Prof Stevens became a full Professor in 2008, only 4 years after joining Imperial College in 2004, as one of the youngest Professors in Imperial’s history. Her Inaugural Lecture was delivered to a packed audience of >400 invited guests, including collaborators, colleagues, alumni, current group members and family. Over 100 alumni travelled from all around the world to attend the event.
Stevens showcased numerous exciting outcomes from her research programme, covering areas from materials-based innovations, regenerative medicine, biology, medicine, to biosensing and diagnostic technologies.
Molly Stevens awarded PTN Medema Lecture Award
Molly Stevens has been awarded the Polymer Technology Netherlands Medema Lecture Award in 2018. This honour is awarded annually to a prolific polymer scientist selected by the Polymer Technology Netherlands, the National Dutch Graduate School of Polymer Science and Technology.
UKRMP “Smart Materials” Hub announced
Molly Stevens is Director of the recently awarded UK Regenerative Medicine Platform (UKRMP) "Acellular Materials / Smart Materials - 3D Architecture" Hub. This Smart Materials Hub involves 9 other UK-based Universities and aims towards materials-based approaches that support regenerative therapies. The Hub has been awarded £4 million from the UKRMP and is for 5 years.
Molly Stevens inducted into the AIMBE College of Fellows
Molly Stevens has been elected and inducted into the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) College of Fellows. AIMBE’s College of Fellows is comprised of around 1,500 individuals who have made significant contributions to the medical and biological engineering (MBE) community in academia, industry, government, and education.
Molly Stevens is the 2018 recipient of the Marshall R. Urist Award
The Orthopaedic Research Society has selected Molly Stevens as the 2018 recipient of the Marshall R. Urist, MD Award in Excellence in Tissue Regeneration Research. The Urist Award honors investigators who have made significant contributions to research in tissue regeneration. The award citation reads that it is presented to Molly Stevens in recognition of her incredible advancements in using a multidisciplinary approach based on physics, engineering, chemistry, biology, medicine and the life sciences to design and develop bio-inspired materials for regenerative medicine.

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society has awarded Prof Molly Stevens the prestigious Harrison Medal, which is awarded every two years to a scientist who has made an outstanding contribution to pharmaceutical science and practice in pharmacy.
